October 31, 2006National Association of Realtors (NAR) encourages home ownership, with interest rates near 40-year lows and a higher than normal number of homes for sale. According to NAR, there has been an 88% increase in the national median price of homes bought 10 years ago. The demand for housing is expected to continue, with the number of U.S. households expected to increase 15 percent over the next decade. NAR quotes former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan as saying, "Most of the negatives in housing are probably behind us. The fourth quarter should be reasonably good, certainly better than the third quarter." Real estate continues to be an excellent way to enhance your long term wealth!
